Population methodology

The Top 50 by population ranking uses 2020 Census PL 94-171 table P1 total population (p0010001_2020), aggregated by Census Reporter from blocks to OpenDataPhilly neighborhood polygons (user geography uploaded 2021-08-11). Method: block internal-point assignment. Ranking describes population size only — sponsorship and engagement do not change order. Broad umbrella areas such as University City remain in the directory but are excluded from this residential ranking.
